There's just two months to wait for Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch's. Of GamesRadar, but also getting all the reviews up on the website,.

Format: PS4. Developer: Sucker Punch. Ghost of Tsushima's main character is Jin SakaiTo tell a good samurai story, you first need a good samurai. Protagonist Jin Sakai is one of the last line of defences against the Mongol hordes that are invading Tsushima - but fortunately, he's got katana skills befitting a one-man army. Rather than some ornate armor, Jin prefers to wear a straw raincoat to better insulate himself from the rain and winds.

His red attire mirrors the red leaves that swirl and drift around the island (and feature prominently in the gameplay trailer).Of course, Jin can't possibly fight off the Mongol army on his own. He has to gather allies - like Masako, the skilled archer who features prominently in the gameplay debut. Her allegiance with Jin goes south when he protects the monk that she wants revenge on, resulting in a duel even as the enemy forces approach. Clearly, recruiting the people of Tsushima to fight by your side won't be easy - but it's ultimately necessary. Ghost of Tsushima gameplay has swords, stealth, and grappling hooksAs you probably already guessed, Jin is a master of the sword - and there will be plenty of melee combat as you cut through the Mongol invaders and their many scouting parties. From what we've seen, the skirmishes focus on the art of the counterattack, with Jin patiently waiting for his opponents to charge him before deflecting their strikes and slicing them for the kill. When it's you against many, you'll need to properly time your counters to ward off all types of weapons, including swords, spears, and shield slams. There are also stealth segments (which give off serious Tenchu vibes), where you can get the jump on a group of enemies and trigger a time-slowing targeting system that lets Jin execute multiple foes in quick succession.

To help you reach better ambushing spots, Jin has a grappling hook to quickly scale structures. He can even throw it out mid-jump, much like Nathan Drake's acrobatic grappling in. Ghost of Tsushima's open-world adventure is set in Feudal JapanSucker Punch’s new game moves away from the industrial cities of the inFamous series in favour of Feudal Japan. It’s the year 1274, and you’re on the titular island of Tsushima, Japan.

And as you can see from the gameplay trailer up top, it’s rather stunning. You play as one of the last surviving samurai warriors, and 1274 just happens to be the year the Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima. So it’s time to get your samurai on and fight to protect your homeland.' When we hit upon the Mongol invasion of Tsushima of 1274, it all clicked,' explains Nate Fox, Game Director at Sucker Punch. 'Suddenly you knew who the heroes were, who the villains were, what the stakes were for the world, and you had a video game.'

The decision to stay open world, following on from Sucker Punch's success with inFamous, was apparently clear from the start. 'We wanted to stay open world, because we're giving authority and power to the player,' says Fox. 'We didn't want to want away from that. We think its integral to modern gaming that players are in charge.' 'All of what’s shown in our debut trailer was captured in our game engine, that’s the interactive world we’re painstakingly crafting together, that’s the world we’re going to set on fire,' adds Fox. 'The artists and engineers here at Sucker Punch have brought this world to life on PlayStation 4, from tall grass blowing in the wind to the call of a far off crane, we want to make it feel real.' According to Sucker Punch the action will all take place on a 'huge island filled with a lot of different places, towns, people.'

Apparently as the last samurai, you’re going to have to abandon your honorable tactics of old to forge a new way of fighting - literally, the 'Way of the Ghost'. Aaah, that explains that title then. The reveal trailer shows off just some of the weapons and gameplay features, including katanas, longbows, and armored horses. The world looks utterly stunningIf you were in any doubt that Sucker Punch is gifted at created immersive worlds that are full of color, you should check out some of the concept art it released for Ghost of Tsushima. From the waterlilies to the temples, there's plenty of beauty in Feudal Japan. See for yourself:Related Ghost of Tsushima news.

Quiet as only a Ghost could do, Ghost of Tsushima is slowly preparing to be launched. The next title of sucker Punch is now on its way to arrival and in just over two months we will finally be able to get our hands on what, since the first announcement in 2017, would seem to be one of the most promising exclusives in the world PlayStation. Almost three years have passed since that Paris Games Week and it is therefore time to take stock of the situation, going to analyze all the details we know about setting, history and gameplay. Are you ready to dive into feudal Japan?

The ghost

Of the plot of Ghost of Tsushima we don't know much, but that little information available to us tickles us a lot. The game takes place in the late thirteenth century, during the first Mongol invasion of Japan, and theTsushima island it is the last area to have been attacked by the huge army led by General Khotun Khan. During a bloody battle that sees the victory of the Mongols, Jin Sakai remains the last warrior samurai alive and will therefore have to stop the advance of the Mongol Empire and protect its people. He will then be led to put aside his samurai training to become a lethal and silent warrior, a legend whose nickname will resonate throughout the island of Tsushima: the ghost.

The protagonist will be divided between the teachings of art Bushido, typical of samurai, and art Ninjawarriors who act in the shadows and who put honor aside, attacking from behind and hiding in the dark. A decidedly intriguing incipit, which we hope will be developed properly. It would indeed be interesting – and we are quite certain that it could be one of the central themes of the game – to see how Jin's internal conflict will affect his approach to fighting and see what consequences it will have on relationships with other characters, which for now we have only seen in passing. We also know that the title has received a 17+ rating and therefore we expect the right amount of violence and, above all, a mature story that lives up to expectations.

The Rescue Team has its hands full as it braves volcanoes, earthquakes, blizzards and more to save the people, animals and homes that lie in the path of utter devastation. Rescue team 7 walkthrough.

From Samurai to Ninja

According to what little we have seen so far, we know that the gameplay will alternate combat with white weapon in stages stealth. To be honest, the player will decide which approach to use, depending on his preferences and the number of enemies he will face. Jin will be forced to eliminate large groups of enemies and not always attack them directly with his own katana – within a combat system which would seem to be based primarily on the parade and the counterattacks – it will be the best strategy.

From the gameplay trailers we have seen, the protagonist will get closer and closer to the art of the Ninja and very often will decide to eliminate the opponents one at a time, without showing up. To do this, the player has several tools available: first of all is the grapple which will allow rapid movements both horizontally and in vertical. This gadget seemed very similar to that used by the unforgettable Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4: End of a thief, but we don't know if, like in the masterpiece Naughty Dog, Jin will be allowed to hook the grappling hook only to certain handholds or if there will be greater freedom of movement.

The stealth sections can surely remember those seen in the series Batman Arkham and actually there are several points in common, such as smoke bombs, useful to disappear in the most difficult moments, or the multiple kills that we saw in the gameplay of E3 2018, very similar to the Multi KO Terror introduced in the third chapter of the license plate trilogy Rocksteady. Our protagonist will also have a bow, with which he will be able to shoot different types of arrows.

Tsushima island

In other cases we would say that feudal Japan will be the backdrop to Jin Sakai's events, yet the setting created by sucker Punch it is so beautiful and enchanting that defining it as a “background” would be too reductive. This is because, in addition to the just mentioned fantastic technical realization, according to the developers, the exploration and therefore the territory where the title is set, will be an integral part of Ghost of Tsushima. Jin will be able to move on his saddle horse, recallable with the classic whistle, and explore the various regions of the island.

L'exploration is a very important part of the title e sucker Punch seems to want to prevent players from moving from point A to point B, simply to reach a goal, but to stop wandering around the game world, learning to know the details and the secrets. It is not yet clear whether they will be present or not screen indicators to show the destination to reach and we are therefore waiting for further declarations regarding this mechanic.

Even from a technical point of view, Ghost of Tsushima seems to live up to expectations. The title of sucker Punch it seems to be characterized by a visual quality of the highest level, thanks once again to the beautiful setting, especially from an artistic point of view. The territory recreated by the study it simply leaves you speechless, presenting a world of splendid colors, but we prefer in any case to wait to have the title in our hands to express ourselves on the technical sector of the game. Very little is missing at the launch of Ghost of Tsushima, which will arrive on PlayStation 4 on June 26. In light of this analysis we must ask ourselves once again: are you ready to dive into feudal Japan?
